NETWORK ENGINEER (SOLUTIONS) in Pune, Mahārāshtra, Ind; at Northern star

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join Northern Star International Pvt Ltd team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of networking technologies, including IP addressing, firewalls, and routing protocols such as BGP. Experience with MikroTik routers and FortiGate firewalls, along with a CCNA certification, will be considered an added advantage. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth, working alongside industry experts, implement, and support complex network solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the design and implementation of network solutions for clients. • Configure and maintain IP addressing schemes for IPv4 and IPv6. • Support firewall configurations and rule management, focusing on FortiGate firewalls. • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, FortiGate, MikroTik, etc. devices for client network environments. • Assist with network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. • Provide technical support for customer inquiries related to networking issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions for client needs. • Stay updated on emerging networking trends and technologies to assist in future projects. • Look for business growth opportunities from client for additional revenue generation. Key Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • CCNA, FortiGate NSE certification (or equivalent networking certification). • Strong foundational knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs. • Understanding of firewalls and security concepts. • Familiarity with routing protocols, especially BGP. • Experience with MikroTik routers and FortiGate firewalls. • Hands-on experience with networking devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Networking certifications such as CCNA or JNCIA or NSE or equivalent. • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. • Exposure to IP address management is a plus.
